B.C. Lions ST Co-ordinator Announces Retirement

B.C. Lions Special Teams Co-ordinator and Running Backs coach Chuck McMann let the Lios know on Saturday that he will be retiring from coaching football and thus will not be with the club in 2016.

Coach McMann spent 8 seasons with the Lions and the 30 year Canadian coaching veteran has coached at many levels in Canada including high school, CGEP, University along with 19 years in the CFL.

General Manager and new-again Head Coach Wally Buano released the follwing statement:

"Chuck has decided to retire from coaching and will not be part of our staff in 2016," said Buono. "I had the pleasure of working with him in both Calgary as well as here in BC and I am grateful for his outstanding contributions to our club and our league. He was a great coach and even better person who played a significant role in building a number of championship teams."

This makes two co-ordinating positions vacant for the B.C. Lions since Wally has returned to the role of head coach. The other vacancy being the Offensive Co-ordinator position as Cortez also announced his retirement earlier in the week.
